Ivacy VPN Team Update – COVID-19 – Work From Home

I, Sharyn, Head Of Communication & PR at Ivacy, just wanted to know how you are doing, and whether or not everything is alright at your end.

I know we are all going through difficult times here due to the COVID-19 epidemic, but I want you to know that we are all in this T O G E T H E R. *spaces in between because social distancing is important* 🙂

Now, most of you must be working from home, guess what, our teams here at Ivacy VPN are all working remotely too, which is a huge challenge in itself, but our productivity levels are still over 90%. All because we want to give you all the best possible VPN experience.

Now, getting back to the matter at hand regarding Work-From-Home.

How are you all coping with it?

It is our ninth day in Quarantine and our teams are working remotely while following a planned workflow, but still, we are struggling due to different challenges both on a professional and personal level.

Let me elaborate on it and see if you can relate with them all:

Personal Challenges

  • 1- Need For SPEED!

Let me be very honest about it: the Wi-Fi at home always seems to be lacking. I suddenly realized what a bliss the internet speeds were at our workplace. It was Blazing Fast! But because there is 5X times more traffic on the internet as everybody is at home streaming Netflix and Amazon Prime, I have faced a visible decline in internet speed.

Here, I would like to mention that even if there is a decline in internet speed, I am still using Ivacy VPN (to access office resources & systems) and haven’t experienced a significant drop in my connection speed. I guess our award and claim of being “THE FASTEST VPN” is still valid. 🙂

  • 2- Isolation & Anxiety

Admit it or not, for those of us who use to work in our office for long hours; and now suddenly we are all isolated, the lacking face-to-face -interaction with my team and colleagues is beginning to take its toll on me. We do communicate with each other through video conferencing and all, but it just isn’t the same.

  • 3- Time Management (Professional Life Vs Family Life)

Working from home is a challenge when you have your husband and kids at home. There are times when it becomes extremely difficult to separate professional life from family life, but I am working on it.

How I am Making things Work For Me:

Now, I am quickly going to list everything in bullet form so that you can grasp everything easily.

  • I am limiting social media & additional news regarding COVID-19 & strictly focusing on getting work done.
  • I dress up in the morning, get my coffee ready before sitting in front of my laptop; however, I know working in your PJs is much more comfortable but it just doesn’t give me that sense of professionalism that I need so badly right now.
  • Our team uses an agile project management system that we follow, so, I list down my TO-DO list for the day and strictly focus on getting things done.
  • After I am done with my work, I take advantage of video conferencing to ask my family and friends about their day.

Well, this is what I am going through right now. How about yourself? Do you want to share anything with me regarding your work from home experience?

Feel free to email me at [email protected] and I will try my best to answer your queries.

I am hoping we all get through these difficult times with ease.

Stay Strong, Stay secure, Stay at home.
